Everyone in Swallowfeld knows of Bartlesby. He is the son of farmers Ephram and Jenna Meer who farm the far western plot in town, which so happens to be the most productive one. While his parents are hardworking, quiet and keep to themselves, Bartlesby takes his parents’ productivity as license for him to lord over the rest of the not quite adults in town. He talks of going away and joining the pirate fleet of the dreaded Captain Jakob the Leper or perhaps going to become king of the barbarians in the eastern sea but mostly he bullies others and talks down to all. That was until he went missing a few days ago . . .
